HOW TO PLANT THEM..
The best time to plant them is in Autumn/Winter or late Winter.
They thrive in colder climates rather than temperate ones. As for the soil, try not to use leaf soil; substrate is better, as leaf soil becomes very hard and prevents roots from developing.
Dig a large, deep hole, and place your rhizome WITH THE BUDS FACING UP.
Fertilizing is very important; you can do it in fall and spring. For your rhizome, you can use special bulb fertilizers or basacote.
After planting, water and keep moist.
Peony roots may not flower in the first year! This is normal, as the plant hasn't yet reached maturity between the first and third years.
