How to Plant Your Peony Rhizomes!

Don't miss the opportunity to plant and have in your home the most beautiful flowers in the world! These rhizomes are of the highest quality, since they come from Patagonia, meeting the necessary standards for your Peony plant to grow vigorously and produce wonderful flowers.
You should keep in mind that peony plants require hours of chilling, so if you live in a location that doesn't meet these conditions, they may not bloom as vigorously. Our pre-sale season begins in April with shipments in early July and ends in early September, or while supplies last.

Care and details of Peony Rhizomes:

  • Origin: Chilean Patagonia.
  • They are planted in Autumn/Winter
  • Planting depth: Leave buds a few centimeters underground, approximately 4-5 cm. The buds should face upwards.
  • The planting distance is 60-80cm between each rhizome.
  • Approximate height between 0.90 and 1m
  • They are full sun.
  • Ideal for planting in the ground, if it is in a pot it should be large, so that the edges do not touch the rhizome,
  • Moderate watering.
  • Use substrate.
  • Good drainage, so that water does not accumulate in the rhizomes or they can rot.
  • Good pollinating agent
  • Plant the rhizome as soon as you receive it.

Note: Peonies require cold in winter, therefore the regions where they bloom best are from the Maule region to the south. In other regions they can bloom but not as strongly.
